A swift guide to some of this year’s highlights…

Manchester makes the selection process for buyers easy – over 150 UK and International brands showing new designs and refreshed favourites.

The current trends for mixed patterns, shiny metals and textured surfaces will star and beside them the up-and-coming trends for 2018. Here’s a mini guide to some of the best things to look out for while touring the stands.

Sofas and Chairs

What’s to see: an extensive list of major UK upholstery brands are launching new models and showing remodelled hot-sellers. Large stands will be dominated with luxury fabrics and elegant and practical designs and all combined with the best of British manufacture.

Returning upholstery experts Westbridge will skip across the border from their Welsh base to show new models in their ‘Brilliantly British’ collection, including new designs in their Elements, WB and Artisan ranges. With models at various price points and to suit a variety of interior schemes from dreamy pale to deep and moody, it’s easy to see why visitors cherish them.

Also look out for: Whitemeadow’s collaboration with Sir Terence Conran, cutting-edge design and fabulous fabrics and Ashley Manor’s trendsetting mixed patterns, metal bases and chunky piping.

Living and Dining

What’s to see: it’s all about texture and contrast in living and dining. Mixed materials and styles from course rustic to smooth sophisticated will be on show. Cabinet furniture is definitely in a renaissance, and will be shown in all its glory here – think marble, metal, glass and different woods with curves, inlays and new finishes.

Baker Furniture is one of the UK’s most inventive cabinet companies. Their new Soho dining shows all of their design flair featuring deep and rich solid wood tops and on-trend leather chairs, it is definitely for 21st Century living.

Also look out for: the new Ava collection from Mark Webster Designs, echoes of the fifties and sixties but it’s a throughally modern range and Rowico’s new Lowry collection – it encapsulates the march of the industrial look in the twenty-tens, less raw and functional more designer and polished.
